Located on the Santos waterfront, Roberto Mário Santini Park is one of the city's most beloved public spaces. Also known as Quebra-Mar de Santos and Emissário Submarino de Santos, the park serves as a large outdoor meeting point, frequented daily by residents and visitors of all ages.
Activities
Always bustling, the park offers a variety of leisure and activity options. Highlights include a skate park, walking paths, a bike path, outdoor exercise equipment, and a skating rink. The location also hosts cultural events, performances, and sporting gatherings, creating a dynamic seaside environment where it's common to see children playing, young people practicing sports, and families enjoying a stroll.
Japanese Spot
Right at the entrance, on the left, is the Japanese Space of Roberto Mário Santini Park, created in homage to the presence and contribution of the Japanese community in Santos. The space features elements inspired by traditional Japanese gardens and offers a more tranquil environment for contemplation and relaxation amidst the coastal scenery.
Tomie Ohtake
Another point of interest is the sculpture by artist Tomie Ohtake. With its curved and abstract forms, characteristic of her work, the piece has become one of the park's visual landmarks and one of the most photographed spots by visitors.
Surf Museum
The park also houses the Santos Surf Museum, dedicated to the history of surfing in the city and in Brazil. The collection includes more than 70 historical surfboards, including equipment used by big names in the sport, such as Gabriel Medina, Ítalo Ferreira, Adriano de Souza, as well as international surfers Kelly Slater and John John Florence.
Contemplation
In addition to its cultural and sporting attractions, the park stands out for its privileged landscape. Located in one of the most open stretches of the Santos coastline, it offers a wide view of the ocean and the sandy beach. On clear days, the scenery is ideal for relaxing, practicing outdoor activities, or simply contemplating the sea.
One of the most memorable experiences is walking to the end of the breakwater. From there, the view of the coastline gains a different and special perspective, reinforcing Santos' historical relationship with the sea.
